If your company is based outside the EU and you place a high-risk AI system on the EU market or put it into service there, Article 22 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 — the AI Act — requires you to designate an authorised representative established in the EU before that system reaches EU users.

The representative is your official point of contact for national market surveillance authorities. Without one, you are not compliant with Article 22, and EU authorities can take enforcement action — including market access restrictions — against the product.

The AI Act entered into force on 1 August 2024. Obligations for providers of high-risk AI systems apply from 2 August 2026.

REP27 acts as AI Act authorised representative for companies outside the EU. Designation is signed within 24 hours and comes with a verifiable certificate.
