What REP27 LTD is

REP27 LTD is the company that signs every United Kingdom appointment offered under the REP27 brand. It is a private company limited by shares, incorporated in England and Wales in August 2026 and entered on the public register kept by Companies House with company number 17385889. Its registered office is Unit 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Suffolk IP28 7DE.

When a business established outside the United Kingdom appoints REP27 as its UK representative or UK responsible person, the written mandate is signed by REP27 LTD. Its name, postal address and electronic address are the ones that appear in the client's privacy notice, on product labels for Great Britain and on the certificates that anyone can verify online.

Why a company established in the United Kingdom

Since the United Kingdom left the European Union, it has its own data protection law, the UK GDPR, and its own product rules for Great Britain. Article 27 of the UK GDPR asks a business outside the UK that offers goods or services to people in the UK, or monitors their behaviour, to designate a representative established in the United Kingdom. A company in Prague, Dublin or Paris cannot fill that role, however good it is.

That is why REP27 has a British company. The Information Commissioner's Office, a trading standards officer or a customer in Manchester can write to an address in England and reach a registered UK company, in English, under UK law. The public register at Companies House shows every detail of REP27 LTD free of charge, so anyone can confirm in seconds that the representative named in a privacy notice really exists.

What REP27 LTD signs

REP27 LTD signs the UK side of the REP27 services, and nothing else. Each mandate has its own legal basis and its own verification code prefix, so an authority, a marketplace or a customer can tell at a glance which appointment a document refers to.

Who needs a UK representative

The test has the same shape as the European one, applied to the United Kingdom. A business needs a UK GDPR representative when three things are true at the same time: it has no establishment in the UK, no branch, office or subsidiary; it offers goods or services to people in the UK, or monitors their behaviour; and it processes their personal data. Prices in pounds, delivery to Britain, a .co.uk domain or advertising aimed at British customers are typical signs of targeting.

The exemptions are narrow: processing that is occasional, does not include special category or criminal offence data on a large scale and is unlikely to result in a risk to people, and processing by public authorities. Where the servers are located does not matter. For products and cosmetics the question is simpler: if the manufacturer is outside the UK and the goods are sold to consumers in Great Britain, someone established in the UK has to be named.

How a UK appointment is signed

Every appointment starts with a file: who the client is, where it is established, what it sells or which personal data it processes, and to whom in the United Kingdom. A person reviews that file before anything is signed, usually within 24 working hours. If something is missing or does not add up, the client is asked before the designation is issued.

Once the file is complete, REP27 LTD signs the UK designation. The client receives a signed letter, a certificate with a QR code and a verification code starting with UK27-, UK16- or UKC-, and the exact text to use in a privacy notice or on a label. The public verification page shows the company name, the service, the status and the validity dates, and never the client's internal data.

The wording that names REP27 LTD

A privacy notice must give the identity and contact details of the representative. With every UK GDPR designation the client receives wording of this kind, ready to paste:

For products and cosmetics the client receives the label block instead: the name REP27 LTD and its UK address, in the form marketplaces and trading standards expect to see.

What happens when the ICO writes

The Information Commissioner's Office can contact REP27 LTD instead of contacting the client abroad. The request is logged on arrival and forwarded to the client promptly with the original text and the deadline, and REP27 stays in the thread until the matter is closed.

On request, REP27 LTD makes the record of processing activities available to the ICO. People in the UK who want to exercise their rights can do the same: their message reaches a company in England, in English, and then reaches the client without delay.

What it costs

The UK representative costs the same as the EU representative: from €290 a year. A business that needs both receives two designations, signed by two companies, under one order from €390 a year, so adding the United Kingdom costs €100 and not a second full fee. From the second year renewals are discounted. Prices exclude VAT.

A company, not a law firm

REP27 LTD is not a law firm and REP27 does not give legal advice. The company performs the roles that the rules describe: it is the UK contact point for authorities and the public, it keeps the documents it must keep, and it forwards requests to the client promptly.

Appointing REP27 LTD does not transfer the client's obligations. The accountability under the UK GDPR and under product safety law stays with the client, and a designation does not prevent action against the client itself. For questions that need a lawyer, REP27 coordinates a network of partner law firms.

Working with Europe Services SE

The European Union and the United Kingdom have separate rules, and neither company can fulfil the other's role. For EU appointments the mandate is signed by Europe Services SE, a Societas Europaea registered in Prague with company ID 03571785. For UK appointments it is signed by REP27 LTD.

Each company signs only in its own jurisdiction. UK documents show only UK details, EU documents only EU details, and a client that needs both receives two separate designations with two certificates and two verification codes.
